US-EU-JPN RF Heating Technology Workshop: September 21 (Wed) -23 (Fri), 2016
We are cordially inviting you to attend the US-EU-JPN workshop on RF heating technology which will be held at the Hotel Leinsweiler Hof, Leinsweiler, Germany.
US-EU-JPN workshops on RF heating technology have a long history. They have been contributing to promote RF heating in fusion research through stimulated discussions and resulting collaborations. In the past researchers from US, Europe and Japan institutions have participated in the meetings. We would like to extend the invitation to members from the ITER Organization to participate and to give presentations.
In 2016 the workshop will be organised by Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, Institute for Applied Materials (IAM) and the Institute for Pulsed Power and Microwave Technology (IHM).
The name Leinsweiler arose when a Frankish king gave the place a baroness named Landswinda, which was sung at the Frankish court because of her beauty. Leinsweiler is mentioned as Lantsindewilare in Codex Edelini when it was 985 at the Salic sacrilege Monastery Weißenburg expropriated.
1988 Leinsweiler was awarded in the competition of the German Wine Road as "The beautiful vineyard village".
Close to Leinsweiler is the reconstructed castle of Trifels, one of the emperors’ sites in the time of King Barbarossa, who called it the safest place in the German-Roman Empire. Richard the Lionheart was arrested here on his way back from his crusade, in the meanwhile John Lackland ruled England, the famous story of Robin Hood plays in this time. A visit of the castle is foreseen.
