Members in DFG Committees Prof. Dr. Peter Gumbsch (IAM-CMS) was elected to the selection committee for the Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz Program of the German Research Foundation (DFG). Prof. Dr. Hans J. Seifert (IAM-AWP) has been a member of the DFG Senate Committee and the DFG Grants Committee for Collaborative Research Centers (SFB) since July.
Bronislava Gorr at the IAM-AWP Prof. Dr.-Ing. habil. Bronislava Gorr was appointed to the W3 professorship for material behavior under extreme environmental conditions at the IAM-AWP as of 01.10.2020. Currently she is supported by a Heisenberg professorship.

Call to Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences Prof. Dr.-Ing. Katrin Schulz (IAM-CMS) has accepted an appointment at the Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences. Here she is professor for engineering mechanics and materials science at the faculty of mechanical engineering and mechatronics.
European Soft Innovation Prize The work "Development of advanced solid neutron multiplier for innovative T-breeding blanket design" of the group led by Dr. Pavel Vladimirov at IAM-AWP was awarded the 2nd of the "European Soft Innovation Prize" by the EU Commission.
New member of acatech The German Academy of Science and Engineering (acatech) has elected Prof. Dr. rer. nat. Peter Gumbsch (IAM-CMS) to the circle of its members.
