Examination regulations

Information on oral examinations

The assessment takes place in the form of an oral examination (duration 30-35 min). In addition to registering electronically in the study office via the self-service function, you will need to arrange an examination date by email with the secretary's office of the IAM-KWT, stating your name and student ID, matriculation number. 2-3 days before the examination date, you will find the exact time for your examination in the ILIAS system. Cancellation must be declared to the examiner no later than 3 working days before the relevant exam date. To do this, send an email to the IAM-KWT secretary's office and cancel your registration electronically at the study office. Withdrawal from an oral examination less than three working days before the relevant examination date is only possible in accordance with the study and examination regulations for the bachelor's program in Materials Science and Engineering (MWT) under the conditions of §10 para. 5. Withdrawal from oral re-examinations within the meaning of § 9 para. 1 is only possible under the conditions of para. 5.

If you have not registered electronically by the examination date, you will not be able to take the examination. If you receive an examination slip from the study office, it must be submitted to the IAM-KWT secretary's office 4 days before the examination date. You must bring your student ID with you to the examination. The examination is offered on a fixed date each semester and can be repeated on any regular examination date. The next examination date will take place at the end of the winter term, winter semester.

Material Science and Engineering I and II (Industrial Engineers)

The assessment takes place in the form of a written (written exam(ination)) or an oral examination during the lecture-free period of the semester (according to §4(2), 1 SPO)

  • Please note the following points regarding the written examination, written exam:
    • You must bring your student ID, pens and ruler/triangle.
    • Other aids are not permitted. Exception: dictionary (for students who are not native speakers of German)

    • The lecture hall allocation will be announced on the homepage.
  • The duration of the oral examination depends on the examination regulations.

The examination is offered every semester and can be repeated at any regular examination date. The examination mode (oral / written) depends on the number of participants (usually written in the respective lecture semester, usually oral in the following semester).

Registrations for examinations must be made electronically via the self-service function of the Office of Student Affairs.
If the self-service function is not activated, registration takes place in the IAM-KWT secretary's office.

Regulations for the inspection of written exams

  • Registrations for the inspection of written exams(ination) are not necessary
    .
  • The different time slots will be announced via Ilias on the date of the inspection of written exams(ination).
  • The duration of the inspection is 30 minutes per group.
  • Please make sure that you are present on time in your time slot.
  • Please bring your student ID with you.
  • For data protection reasons, we will only hand out the written exam(ination) to you personally, we do not accept proxies.
