Experimental Analysis of the Safety of Lithium-Metal Batteries

  • vacancy:

    Be part of a team of leading German and US-American scientists researching and further developing
    lithium-metal batteries. Within the team, you will be responsible for the experimental analysis of gas
    evolution from lithium-metal batteries under controlled heating. In combination with post-mortem
    analysis of the resulting substances, you will identify reaction mechanisms and thus the initial heat
    sources before a possible uncontrolled self-heating during operation. Through interdisciplinary exchange
    with other experimental and simulation partners, also via research stays abroad, you will
    jointly uncover dominant processes and reaction networks. You will thus contribute directly to improving
    the safety and stability of the batteries.
    As part of your work, you will publish research results in scientific journals and project reports and
    present them at national and international conferences.
