Wajiha Fatima completed her Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from Government College University, Faisalabad, Pakistan (2018–2022) and was awarded with Gold Medal. She then earned her Master’s degree in Chemistry from King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals (KFUPM), Saudi Arabia (2023–2025). Her master’s thesis focused on exploring transition metal phosphides and sulfides as electrocatalysts for water splitting.

In November 2025, she joined the Ph.D. program at KIT as a doctoral researcher at the (IAM-ET) under the supervision of Dr. Johanna Schörder. Her doctoral research focuses on developing multi metal electrocatalysts for alkaline water electrolysis and integrates operando / in situ characterization techniques to track structural, compositional, and chemical-state evolution of catalysts under realistic reaction conditions, enabling deeper insight into activity and stability during water splitting
