Research

My research focuses on the characterization and modeling of electrochemical energy converters and storage devices and spans various scales - from electrochemical and microstructural properties of porous electrodes, to performance and lifetime analyses of engineered cells, to dynamic behavior of systems.

Fuel cells and electrolyzers

  • Solid Oxide Fuel Cells (SOFC)
  • Solid Oxide Electrolyzer Cells (SOEC)
  • Polymer Electrolyte Membrane Fuel Cells (PEMFC)
  • Polymer Elektrolyte Membrane Electrolyzers (PEMEL)

Batteries

  • Lithium-Ion Batteries
  • Solid Electrolyte Batteries
