Research

My research focuses on the characterization and modeling of electrochemical energy converters and storage systems and covers different scales - from electrochemical and microstructural properties of porous electrodes, over performance and lifetime analyses of technical cells, to the dynamic behavior of systems.

Fuel cells and electrolyzers

  • Solid Oxide Fuel Cells (SOFC)
  • Solid Oxide Electrolyzer Cells (SOEC)
  • Polymer Electrolyte Membrane Fuel Cells (PEMFC)

Batteries

  • Lithium-ion batteries
  • Solid Electrolyte Batteries
