The research training group investigates continuous-discontinuous long fiber reinforced polymer structures. These structures combine the design freedom of discontinuous- and the high strength and stiffness of continuous fiber reinforced polymers. In the reasearch training group there are projects from manufacturing to design, characterization and simulation of the composite.

In project C1 we focus on the characterization of the fiber-matrix-interface from experimental and numerical point of view. For example micro-tensile tests and single-fiber push-out tests are done on the composite material and a numerical interface model is adopted on the experimental obervations.
